5 Things to Think About When Burning Natural Soy Candles

Burning candles is something that everyone enjoys doing. Most households have candles in their home for purposes of when they lose electricity, they love the aromas, or for the calming effects through the scents. There are many things to consider when your burn natural soy candles.

1. When you extinguish a natural soy candle you should do so with a special wick dipper. All you will need to do is dip the wick into the pool of wax created by the burning flames and then pulls it back out. This is the best way to extinguish a candle because it minimizes smoke you see when you blow out a candle. It also extends the lifetime of a soy candle much longer when you take care of the wick. Many people don’t understand the importance of taking care of a wick with candles. Soy candles need extra care. You should also trim soy candle wicks before you burn them again at least 5mm.

2. Soy candles often come with stickers and packages on them. Some people are so eager to light their candles they don’t even think about removing all of the extra markings. You might have a price tag or a sticker from the manufacturer at the middle of the candle. Although, it may seem harmless these things burn unlike a candle. If you don’t want paper to catch fire and fall onto the floor of your home and catch a big fire you should pull these things off. Everything should be removed from a natural soy candle but the wick.

3. When you burn natural soy candles or traditional candles you need to use a candle holder. People often burn the oversized round candles and think that they provide for their own holder. This isn’t the case. You should use a candle holder because wax can drip all over the place and it does get hot enough to start a fire. You want to protect your furnishings and more. If you don’t want to use a candle holder you might consider using reed diffusers rather than candles.

4. Natural soy candles are not the same as traditional candles. They are made with different materials and they burn different. When you light a natural soy candle and extinguish it you will need to wait a while before you light it again. You should at least wait until the candle completely hardens before you relight it. This is because if you do not the candle will burn unevenly. You don’t want to stress about the candle burning unevenly if you are using a candle as a form of stress therapy because you are worried about getting your citizenship through the Green Card Lottery.

5. You also need to protect natural soy candles from a draft or ventilation. You do need ventilation in the room to protect you from breathing in soot but you also want to be sure that a draft does not carry the flame to cause a fire. A draft can be dangerous.
